Hugh Jones is a British record producer with many important post-punk, new wave and alternative rock albums to his credit. Career. In the early 1970s, Jones worked as an apprentice engineer in IBC Studios in Central London, while acting as lead singer in the band Mistral.

Hugh Jones (born in London, England) is an English record producer and sound engineer, affiliated with R.G. Jones Studios. Jones started his career as an apprentice engineer at the I.B.C. Studios, London, in the early 1970's. His first work was Chick Corea's legendary "Light as a Feather" album in October 1972.
Noted producer Hugh Jones, who worked with Echo & the Bunnymen (on their 1981 album Heaven Up Here ), among many others, helped KOD to sound more at ease in the studio.

We had (producer) Hugh Jones coming back out to do the album, but it was a bit too soon for him to come out. But I don’t think the songs were strong enough—there were some good songs, but there were some very weak songs, and I should’ve said that at the time, but I didn’t.
