Iskandar Ali Mirza [a] (13 November 1899 – 13 November 1969) was a Pakistani politician, statesman and military general who served as the Dominion of Pakistan 's fourth governor-general of Pakistan from 1955 to 1956, and then as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 's first president from 1956 to 1958.

Iskander Mirza, the first President of Pakistan, was born on 14 th December 1898 at Murshidabad a town and district of British India in the Presidency division of Bengal. He belonged to a feudal family of Bengal and was the great-grandson of the last Nawab of Bengal, Mir Jafar.
Major-General Iskander Mirza, CIE, OBE, or Iskander Mirza (Urdu: اسکندر مرزا, November 13, 1899 – November 12, 1969) was the last Governor-General of the Dominion of Pakistan (October 6, 1955 to March 23, 1956) and the first President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (March 23, 1956 to October 27, 1958).
Iskander Mirza est un homme politique historiquement important. Il a été successivement gouverneur du Bengale oriental de 1950 à 1953, puis ministre de l'Intérieur de 1954 à 1955, puis gouverneur général jusqu'au 23 mars 1956. The first president was Iskander Ali Mirza who entered office on 23 March 1956. The current office holder is Asif Ali Zardari, who took charge on 9 March 2024, following his controversial victory in the 2024 elections.
