Joseph Herman "Joe" Pasternak (September 19, 1901 – September 13, 1991) was an Hungarian-born American film producer in Hollywood. He was born to a Jewish family in Szilágysomlyó, Austria-Hungary (now Șimleu Silvaniei, Romania).
Joe Pasternak wanted Judy Garland for Durbin's role, but Garland's home studio, MGM, wouldn't loan her out for the picture. However, Joe would produce four Garland films when he moved to MGM. Durbin was picked up from MGM after a short film, Every Sunday co-starring Garland.
Nel 1940 la Universal realizzò un remake statunitense del film, con lo stesso titolo Parata di primavera, interpretato da Deanna Durbin mantenendo Ernst Marischka come sceneggiatore e Joe Pasternak come produttore e riutilizzando parte delle musiche composte da Robert Stoltz per il film originale, in particolare il brano Waltzing in the Clouds.
