This is a list of awards and nominations received by American director and screenwriter Damien Chazelle. Chazelle made his directorial debut with the musical Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench (2009). He wrote and directed his second feature film, Whiplash (2014), based on his award-winning 2013 short film of the same name .
Whiplash received numerous awards on the festival circuit and earned five Oscar nominations, including Best Adapted Screenplay for Chazelle, winning three. Thanks to the success of Whiplash, Chazelle was able to attract financiers for his musical romantic drama La La Land.
