Lockport is a city in Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 20,876 at the 2020 census. It is so named from a set of Erie Canal locks (Lock Numbers 34 and 35) within the city. Lockport is the county seat of Niagara County. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Lowertown Historic District is a national historic district located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. The district is predominantly residential in nature, with some commercial structures and warehouses. The most elegant homes are along Market Street, east of Chapel Street, facing the Erie Canal.
