Grand Est borders four countries—Belgium (Wallonia region) and Luxembourg (Cantons of Esch-sur-Alzette and Remich) on the north, Germany on the east and northeast, and Switzerland on the southeast.

Grand Est, region of France created in 2016 by the union of the former regions of Alsace, Lorraine, and Champagne-Ardenne. It is bounded by Hauts-de-France and Ile-de-France to the west and Bourgogne–Franche-Comte to the south. Belgium and Luxembourg lie to the north, Germany to the east, and Switzerland to the south.
