Sixth Form Program. St. George’s College has contributed significantly to the development of Jamaica with outstanding graduates excelling in all aspects on national life; in science, medicine, business and politics. The Sixth Form programme, which prepares students for university entry, has evolved as well.
In the Jamaican education system, sixth form describes the two school years which are called the Lower Sixth (6B) and Upper Sixth (6A), or grades 12 (lower) and 13 (upper), by many schools. Students are usually aged 17 or 18 by October 31.
In this regard, your high school and participating tertiary institutions including the UCC (which is one of only five UCJ institutionally accredited institutions in Jamaica) will now partner to offer various Sixth Form Pathways for the new school year starting in Fall 2024.
8 dic 2021 · The Sixth-Form Pathways is part of the Ministry’s implementation of a seven-year high-school programme. It allows for students who complete grade 11 to enrol in the programme and pursue a two-year course of study with alternative opportunities alongside the traditional sixth-form curriculum.
The Sixth Form Pathway Programme is a high school programme. Preliminary Registration begins at the Secondary school and Secondary schools are required to maintain records indicating where students are accommodated. The students will be recommended to the tertiary institution by the secondary Schools.
