2 ott 2020 · “My Romance” was written by composer Richard Rodgers with lyrics by his frequent collaborator Lorenz Hart. It was introduced in the 1935 musical “Jumbo” starring Jimmy Durante. The tune went on to become very popular amongst jazz musicians and was recorded by many of the greats.
27 ago 2023 · My Romance is a beautiful and timeless song that was originally written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for the Broadway musical “Jumbo” in 1935. It has since been recorded by numerous artists, but perhaps one of the most iconic versions is performed by the legendary jazz vocalist, Ella Fitzgerald.
The Novis and Grafton recording of “My Romance,” with Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra, reached the 18 th position on the pop charts for one week in 1936. While “My Romance” has been performed by most of the jazz greats, interestingly, it has gained most attention as the title track of a 1990 Carly Simon CD.
