The New College is a government-aided, Autonomous, Arts and Science college affiliated to the University of Madras. It was established in 1951 by the Muslim Association of Southern India (MEASI). The college is re-accredited by NAAC with A++ (CGPA 3.61 out of 4) in the fourth cycle.

New College welcomes everyone and we want our disabled visitors to have a great experience with us. We offer free entry to companions or carers of disabled visitors. The disabled guests pays the reduced concession admission fee upon entry (carer/companion free).
New College is a place of study all year round. Please therefore do not enter staircases, college rooms, or areas marked as private. The Cloisters, Hall, Chapel and Gardens are fully accessible (access to the hall is via a lift) but please be aware that our grounds have uneven surfaces.
