Welcome to The King’s School We are proud of our long-standing history and tradition going back to 1541 and embrace everything the modern world has to offer, as we look towards the future. We value, and strive to encourage, individual academic success, alongside musical, cultural and sporting achievements, within the Christian family ethos, which is central to everything we do.
King’s is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Today we are a thriving, forward-thinking, independent day school with 740 pupils. We welcome boys and girls, aged 3 to 18, offering academic excellence and a celebrated range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.
The King's School is recognised for the academic successes of our students, and has become one of the highest achieving non-selective schools through our commitment to academic excellence. During their senior school years, boys build on the solid foundations of primary schooling, enriching their learning and strengthening their skills.
The King's School is an independent Christian day school for children of nursery age up to GCSE (16 years). The school is situated in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
