Il Governatorato di Al Sharqia, noto anche come Sharkia o Governatorato orientale, è uno dei governatorati (province) dell'Egitto. Si trova nella parte nord-orientale del paese, nella regione del Delta del Nilo. La capitale del governatorato è Zagazig, che è una delle sue principali città.
I governatorati dell'Egitto sono la suddivisione amministrativa di primo livello del Paese e sono pari a 27. I confini territoriali sono stati rivisti nel 2011, quando sono stati aboliti, tra l'altro, il governatorato di Helwan e il governatorato del 6 ottobre.

The governorate is divided into the following municipal divisionsfor administrative purposes, with a total estimated population as of January 2023 of 7,859,068. In some instances there is a markaz and a kism with the same name.
According to population estimates, in 2015 the majority of residents in the governorate lived in rural areas, with an urbanization rate of only 23.1%. Out of an estimated 6,485,412 people residing in the governorate in 2015, 4,987,707 people lived in rural areas and 1,497,705 lived in urban areas.
According to the Governing Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) the governorate is home to two industrial zones. They are located in New Salhia, and in 10th of Ramadan.
