Because they're going to quietly replace him. Vollson I imagine will be the starter by the end of the year. Wouldn't be surprised if Carmen is off the team next year. Even disregarding the character issues, he did not show a lot of promises as a rookie. Bengals were told by Clemson PD that there was nothing concrete.
Seems like there were at least 3 significant red flags with Carman (Work ethic, injury, questionable past) and somehow they still picked him in round 2. Perhaps round 2 is just a bad round for Zac and the gang. His agent read a statement about the situation at his pro day. The Bengals were at his pro day.
