Description. Just two paces from the royal palace of Laeken, the church, which is on a small remodelled square, is a Neo-Gothic building which is worth a visit, above all, for its close association with the royal family.
Built by Leopold I, the first king of the then 20-year-old kingdom Belgium, as a mausoleum for his wife Louise of Orléans, the church today holds the tombs of all former Belgian kings and queens.
