Varniai (pronunciation ⓘ; Samogitian: Varnē; Polish: Wornie) is a city in the Telšiai County, western Lithuania. In the Middle Ages the city was known as Medininkai (Samogitian: Medėninkā). It was established in the 14th century, on the bank of the Varnelė River, near an important Samogitian castle.

Varniai (in samogitico Varnē; in polacco Wornie; in tedesco Medeniken), storicamente chiamata Medininkai, è una città di circa mille abitanti nella contea di Telšiai in Lituania. La città di Medininkai è attestata per la prima volta nel 1314.
In Varniai Regional Park you will see the most magnificent Samogitian mounds, dating back to the time of the Crusaders and Swordsmen (Šatrija, Girgždūtė, Moteraitis, Sprūdė, Vembutai mound, etc.) and the largest natural Samogitian lake - Lūkstas. It is the only lake in Lithuania where the waves shore amber.
