Gordonstoun students follow the GCSE and A-level curriculum in order to give them the best possible start onto further education. Most of our pupils go on to top universities around the world, including both Oxford and Cambridge.
curriculum. A broader curriculum broadens minds. We don’t put students in boxes at Gordonstoun. Classrooms serve a purpose, but many of our learning experiences take place in much more stimulating environments – picture a state-of-the-art dance studio or the middle of the Moray Firth.
Academic curriculum. Entrance to Gordonstoun requires the pupil to pass the Common Entrance Examination. In the Junior School (ages 8–13), pupils study a range of courses and follow the Scottish education system.
The academic curriculum. In line with the GCSEs and A Levels offered in the Senior School, Junior School children follow the English National Curriculum and we teach everything from English, Mathematics and Science to Latin, Art and Music.
Gordonstoun follows the English GCSE and A-level curriculum. With a staff/ pupil ratio of 1:7 and every student’s progress carefully overseen by their tutor, they go on to universities, colleges and art schools all over the world. The students at Gordonstoun inhabit a community which is both balanced and internationally dynamic.
Its unique ethos emphasises the importance of every learner fulfilling their academic potential while developing a suite of life skills outside the classroom. In fact, the wilderness expeditions that spurred the development of the Lumley girls are a key part of Gordonstoun’s signature curriculum.
