Compiling and Running Kismet on Windows 10. With the introduction of the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), it's now possible to run the Kismet server on a Win10 system. There is one major caveat: Kismet will not be able to capture packets from your local Wi-Fi interface.
Kismet has deep dependencies on the Posix (ie, Unix-based) libraries and environment, and as such, does not run directly on Windows platforms. It is possible to run Kismet inside the WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) environment, either in WSL1 or WSL2.
