The Alfred Ackermann–Teubner Memorial Award for the Promotion of Mathematical Sciences recognized work in mathematical analysis. It was established in 1912 by engineer Alfred Ackermann-Teubner (1857–1941), [1] and was an endowment of the University of Leipzig. [2] It was awarded 14 times between 1914 and 1941. [3] .
He chose to remain at Hamburg, however. Two years later, in 1932, for contributions leading to the advancement of mathematics, Artin was honored—jointly with Emmy Noether —with the Ackermann–Teubner Memorial Award, which carried a grant of 500 marks.
Paul Koebe (15 February 1882 – 6 August 1945) was a 20th-century German mathematician. His work dealt exclusively with the complex numbers, his most important results being on the uniformization of Riemann surfaces in a series of four papers in 1907–1909. He did his thesis at Berlin, where he worked under Hermann Schwarz.

It wasn’t until the 1930s that Emmy started to gain the recognition that she deserved. In 1932, she won the Ackermann-Teubner Memorial Award. The prestigious award compelled her colleagues to pressure the university to finally recognize her as a full professor, which they did that same year.
