The Kremlin Wall Necropolis (or Mausoleum) was established in November 1917 with the mass burial of 240 Bolshevik victims of the October Revolution on the Red Square. From 1921, funerals at the Kremlin Wall were reserved as the last honor for the notable persons of the Soviet Union.
