Le Splendid is a café-théâtre company founded in Paris by a collection of writers and actors in the 1970s: Christian Clavier, Michel Blanc, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte (four childhood friends who knew one another from the Lycée Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine), Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Bruno Moynot and Claire Magnin.
Thierry Lhermitte ( French pronunciation: [tjɛʁi lɛʁˈmit]; born 24 November 1952) is a French actor, director, writer and producer, best known for his comedic roles. He was a founder of the comedy troupe Le Splendid in the 1970s, along with, among others, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, and Michel Blanc.
Biographie Le Splendid. Ils rencontrèrent un jour Marianne Chazel, élève au lycée de filles juste en face. Passionnés de théâtre, ils montèrent une troupe à laquelle s'ajoutèrent peu à peu Josiane Balasko, Dominique LavAnant, Bruno Moynot et Anémone , entre autres.
Membre cofondateur de la troupe de café-théâtre comique et satirique appelée Le Splendid, il devient populaire à partir des années 1970 pour son rôle culte du playboy séducteur Robert « Popeye » Lespinasse dans Les Bronzés (1978) et Les bronzés font du ski (1979) — rôle qu'il reprend en 2006 dans Les Bronzés 3 ...
Gérard Jugnot ( French pronunciation: [ʒeʁaʁ ʒyɲo]; born 4 May 1951) is a French actor, film director, screenwriter and film producer. Jugnot was one of the founders of the comedy troupe Le Splendid in the 1970s, along with, among others, his high-school friends Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, and Michel Blanc.
