Charles Watson-Wentworth, II marchese di Rockingham (Rotherham, 13 maggio 1730 – Wimbledon, 1º luglio 1782), è stato un politico britannico. 9 mag 2024 · Charles Watson-Wentworth, 2nd marquess of Rockingham was the prime minister of Great Britain from July 1765 to July 1766 and from March to July 1782. He led the parliamentary group known as Rockingham Whigs, which opposed Britain’s war (1775–83) against its colonists in North America.

From 1748-50 he undertook the Grand Tour proper, returning to England on the death of his father. The new Marquis of Rockingham celebrated his coming of age in great style on 13 May 1751 and took his seat in the House of Lords. He also became a Lord of the Bedchamber to George II.
