Karl Otto Lagerfeld (* 10. September 1933 in Hamburg; [1] † 19. Februar 2019 in Neuilly-sur-Seine bei Paris [2] [3]) war ein deutscher Modeschöpfer, Designer, Fotograf und Kostümbildner. Er begann seine Laufbahn in der französischen Modewelt Mitte der 1950er Jahre in Paris, wo er bei Balmain, Patou, Chloé und anderen Modefirmen beschäftigt war.
