Le Club des jacobins est un des principaux bénéficiaires de la journée du 10 août 1792 (chute de la monarchie). Il occupe désormais une position dominante et inaugure la période jacobine de la Révolution française. C’est le Club des jacobins qui désigne la députation parisienne (24 députés) aux élections à la Convention.

On 8 and 12 May in the Jacobin Club, Robespierre restated the necessity of founding a revolutionary army, that would search for grain, to be funded by a tax on the rich, and would be intended to defeat aristocrats and counter-revolutionaries.
