In 1954, Nimony married actress Sandra Zober while he was serving in the United States Army Special Services Detachment as a performer for fellow soldiers at Fort McPherson. The couple remained married for 32 years. Throughout their marriage, Sandra and Leonard lived in a house in Westwood, Los Angeles.
