Ethel Waters first sang it at The Cotton Club night club in Harlem in 1933 and recorded it that year, and in the same year it was sung in London by Elisabeth Welch and recorded by Frances Langford.

29 giu 2024 · I cannot think of Stormy Weather without remembering Lena Horne's version. One can still obtain copies of the production of all Black entertainers with the same name (though it will cost you!) , in which Horne sings this song. I first became familiar with it from "That's Entertainment," the popular movie from the 70s about Hollywood's efforts.
