L’immaginario infantile di Bamnan And Slivercork non può nascondere il riuscito tentativo dei Midlake di misurarsi con la canzone pop, in cui eccelleranno anche e soprattutto nella sua versione più elementare – ad esempio nei due accordi di “They Cannot Let It Expand”, trascesi nel soliloquio finale, o, soprattutto, della narrazione nonsense e tambureggiante di “Kingfish Pies”.
29 gen 2007 · While Midlake got some notoriety (and rightfully so) for 2006's "The Trials of Van Occupanther" the hype should have started with their debut album "Bamnan and Slivercork". While not as strong all the way through as Trials, Bamnan actually holds 3 of my favorite Midlake songs, Kingfish Pies, The Jungler, and Mopper's Medley.
