The band traveled to Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California to record “modern Slipknot’s” debut self-titled album in September 1998. Chris did not record anything on the album. While in California, they had photoshoots for promo material in preparation for releasing the new album, most famously near the Santa Monica Pier.
