Cosmic Egg is the second studio album by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother, released on 23 October 2009. Cosmic Egg werd goed ontvangen, maar er waren ook negatieve reacties op het nieuwe album. Verscheidene fans waren niet tevreden met de nieuwe lineup van Wolfmother. Drummer Dave Atkins zou in april 2010 al uit de band stappen, maar niet omdat Wolfmother-fans hem niet goed vonden.
E’ però altrettanto vero che il debutto godeva di un omogeneità e di un’intensità che “Cosmic Egg” non punta a conservare. La via intrapresa è quella della multi direzionalità, come dimostra in modo ancora più marcato la special edition con brani aggiunti dal gusto psichedelico preponderante e dalle melodie ricercate.
