We look forward to meeting you. Richard Russell was appointed Headmaster of Colfe’s School in September 2005. He began his teaching career at Sevenoaks School in 1983 as a Classics teacher. As International Baccalaureate Co-ordinator and Director of Studies, he managed and oversaw the expansion and development of the IB programme at Sevenoaks.
A number of pupils enter Colfe’s in Year 7 (age 11) each year from a wide selection of local primary schools and independent schools – approximately two thirds of the total year group. In addition, pupils from Colfe’s Junior School move up into Year 7 – the remaining third.
Pastoral care is in the bones of this school with clear focus on development of balanced and resilient individuals who have been well equipped for life inside and outside the classroom. One parent told us that Colfe’s is a ‘360˚education’: a balance of academic, pastoral and extra curricular.
