Focused on Uta Hagen's approach to acting, lead by actor Paul Pryce.
HB Studio was founded in 1945 by the Broadway actor and director Herbert Berghof. Born in Austria, Berghof was a protégé of the German realist director Max Reinhardt.

The Hagen Core Training is a full-time one-year training program for actors who seek full immersion in the practice of their craft. Taught over three terms by world-class faculty/practitioners, this program offers an integrated progressive curriculum of essential classes: Acting Technique, Scene Study, Script Analysis, Movement, Alexander Technique, Voice, and Speech.
HB Studio offers an opportunity for new and existing students to audit any of our Weekly Classes one time per instructor for $20.00 per audit. Audits allow students to observe the instructor’s teaching style and the culture of the class before making the commitment to register.
HB Studio offers both online classes and in-person classes at the Studio. Before your first class, please review the information outlined on the relevant page(s). Class titles below indicate which are running online vs. in person. Most classes run for 10 weeks.
