20 gen 2007 · Frankly, I object to the way that this album and "International Recue" were compiled. Each one manages to give, on it's own, a frustratingly inaccurate portrayal of what Swell Maps are really about (IMO, a real Swell Maps album somehow resembles closely Pavement's "Wowee Zowee," and the Stocktonites were certainly influenced by SMs).

Swell Maps: biography, discography, reviews, best albums, ratings. Lo spirito naif e irriverente del punk-rock si espresse in molti stili diversi, non soltanto nel rock and roll a perdifiato. Gli Swell Maps furono fra i punk-rocker piu` originali del loro tempo, un po' sgangherati come i Fall e un po' avventurosi come i Throbbing Gristle .
4 giorni fa · Like International Rescue, Sweep the Desert keeps the memory of Swell Maps alive. While the material gathered here might not be fully representative of the band's sound, it does an excellent job of underscoring Swell Maps' significance alongside such illustrious contemporaries as the Pop Group, the Fall and PiL.
