24 nov 2018 · György Kurtág was born in Logoj in western Romania in 1926, later becoming a Hungarian citizen two years after moving to Budapest in 1946. The move brought him closer to another composer of the same name and near enough the same age, with whom he would form a Hungarian axis of art music composition in the 20th century: György Ligeti.
