The Old Way. The Old Way is a 2023 American Western film directed by Brett Donowho, from a screenplay by Carl W. Lucas, and starring Nicolas Cage as a retired gunman on a mission to find the outlaws who killed his wife. [4] [5] The film was theatrically released by Saban Films on January 6, 2023, and received mixed reviews by critics.
The Odd Way Home is an independent film directed by Rajeev Nirmalakhandan and written by Nirmalakhandan and Jason Ronstadt.. Maya (Rumer Willis), a young musician who has just left her abusive boyfriend, steals a delivery truck, which turns out to be the home of Duncan Richards (Chris Marquette), an autistic man whose grandmother has just died.
As Briggs, he says little, again in good Western tradition. But his scenes with 11 year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who plays his daughter Brooke, become increasingly powerful, as the film progresses. And Armstrong (appearing in the film with her real father, Dean, who plays a minor role) is utterly amazing.
