C Bear and Jamal talk to each other, and C Bear can create imaginary scenarios for Jamal - he shows Jamal what adulthood can mean, and how passing 10 does not mean that all of childhood must be abandoned.

Synopsis. C Bear and Jamal is an animated children's television show that premiered on the Fox Kids Fprogramming block in 1996. It features an African-American elementary-aged school kid named Jamal, whose constant companion was "C Bear", a hip hop teddy bear who sings. Film Roman co-produced the show.
C-Bear was an ordinary teddy bear in the eyes of most, but to young Jamal Wingo, he was a best friend and confidante. The shades-wearing bear (voiced by rapper Tone Loc, who performed the show's theme song) could walk and talk, but only came to life around Jamal. But C-Bear and Jamal was more than a rap-influenced Calvin and Hobbes.
