Underworld (band) Hyde, Smith en dj Darren Price on tour in 2005. Underworld is een Britse band uit Cardiff die zich bezighoudt met het produceren van house en techno waarbij veel invloeden uit andere muziekgenres terugkomen. De band bestaat tegenwoordig uit Karl Hyde (1957) en Rick Smith (1959). Aanvankelijk begon Underworld als een synthpopband.
Underworld. UK electronic music act formed by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde in 1987 after their former band Freur disbanded. The first line-up released more song oriented funky guitar based pop over the course of two albums. In 1991 the core duo returned with a new track oriented technoid direction and a new ally: DJ Darren Emerson.
