Mary Blair (1911–1978) was a trailblazing animator and designer for Disney and also worked as a graphic designer, set designer, muralist, and children’s books artist. Her modernist style, sharply defined figures, and passionate love of color are key elements in all of her work, and together they became a signature feature in the whimsical titles she illustrated for Little Golden Books.
Mary Blair ( 21 octobre 1911, McAlester, Oklahoma - 26 juillet 1978, Soquel, Californie) est une artiste américaine. Elle est surtout connue pour son travail au sein des studios Disney mais aussi pour son œuvre de dessinatrice de livres pour enfants. Although Retta Scott paved the way, perhaps the best known among the women animators of Disney's Golden Age was the artist Mary Blair. Her drawings are legendary, and she worked on many of Disney's most successful productions. Mary Blair started working in the studio in 1940 as an illustrator for the movie Dumbo (1941).
