I've noticed birds flying towards my apartment building with their beaks leading the way, almost as if they're colliding with the wall before flying downwards. It appears as though they've run into the wall, but I've observed this behavior more than once, where they consistently approach with their beaks touching the wall first before descending.

5 giorni fa · Update – three singing males plus two other silent birds (probably females) seen with one of the males so numbers at least as good as last year. Heard a Nightjar chur for 2 seconds on Beacon Hill – first time I’ve heard this in daytime. Also Redstart singing on edge of the heath there plus species previously reported.
