Richard Lloyd (* 25.Oktober 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) ist ein amerikanischer Gitarrist und Songwriter.Bekannt wurde er als zweiter Gitarrist der New Yorker Rockband Television neben dem Frontmann und Sänger Tom Verlaine, unter anderem mit dem legendären Album Marquee Moon, das zahlreiche Musiker durch die besondere Art, wie die zwei Gitarren eingesetzt wurden, beeinflusste.
I've seen him perform twice, once with Television (1993 or so) and once with Matthew Sweet. He's one of the best guitarists you never heard of. If you have heard him, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. The story of Velvert Turner, Richard Lloyd and Jimi Hendrix is just amazing and more than a little touching.
