John Lindley Byrne ( Walsall, 6 juli 1950) is een in Engeland geboren Amerikaanse stripauteur. Sinds de jaren zeventig heeft Byrne meegewerkt aan strips van vrijwel elke bekende Amerikaanse superheld. Zijn beroemdste werk is dat bij Marvel Comics aan de X-Men - en Fantastic Four -series.
