14 mag 2021 · You rerecorded “Nirvana” for Hey Babe. Former Blake Baby Evan Dando played on that album, and you played on Lemonheads’ It’s A Shame About Ray, which came out a few months later.
Released a few months prior to Ray was Juliana Hatfield's Hey Babe, which included contributions from Dando. The summer of '92 found me painting houses with a friend; I had Ray and Hey Babe on opposite sides of a cassette that didn't leave the tape deck for weeks.
The female backing vocals on this song are by Juliana Hatfield, who also played bass on the album. She released her first solo album, Hey Babe, earlier in 1992. At this point, The Lemonheads were essentially an Evan Dando solo project. On the It's a Shame About Ray album, David Ryan was the drummer.

29 lug 2023 · Evan Dando, who performed on a couple of Blake Babies’ later albums, then recruited Hatfield to play bass and sing backup on the Lemonheads’ acclaimed 1992 album It’s A Shame About Ray. That same year, Hatfield released her debut solo album Hey Babe. Hatfield wasn’t a fan of the intense attention that came with a solo career.
