L.A. Confidential, tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di Ellroy, è un ottimo noir, come al cinema non se ne vedono spesso, ben diretto da un regista che, molto opportunamente, rimane ben dentro le coordinate stilistiche del genere (quelle codificate negli anni 40 e 50) e interpretato da un manipolo di attori strepitosi.

One of the most striking examples of noir. A well-conveyed historical era. Clearly the best film of Curtis Hanson's career.
