The movie opens with a young woman fending off an attempted rape. In the process, the would-be rapist accidentally falls off a cliff to his death. Circumstantial evidence places 16-year-old delinquent Silver (played by a 27-year-old Van Doren) at the scene, and she is sent to Girls Town, a rehabilitation village run by a group of nuns.
Girls Town plot "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUTHFUL REBELS GO BAD?" Chip gets too tame on a date with a girl and dies in the ensuing struggle. Suspicion quickly falls on his girlfriend Silver. Although the evidence is inconclusive, Silver is sent to Girls Town, a correctional facility run by nuns, where rebellious girls are taught good manners.
16 feb 2024 · 2. I would like to live in Girl’s Town myself 3. The Platters and the other songs made my day 4. This film reminded me of Annie for some reason 5. I kinda can relate to the girl obsessed with Paul, even the jealousy lol. Also, it’s a shame Paul Anka didn’t do that many films…he’s a really great actor!

This post comes after revisiting the MST3K version (which has been on YouTube since 2007, so it just might stay there). I did see ‘Girls Town’ long before MST3K got its hands on it – in Tokyo, when it was on video; I remember gleefully coming across it in my local video shop. But, at the moment, ‘GT’ remains kind of hard to get hold of.
