It was shown in the Vanguard section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. [1] It was Wrona's last feature film, as he died by suicide on 19 September 2015 while promoting the film at the Gdynia Film Festival.

21 mar 2017 · The first two-thirds of Arbor Demon is a great lesson in suspense by director Rea. Unfortunately for me, the last third of the film fell apart. Rea knows how to create tension and he does it well when we don’t see the creatures. In the finale when the creatures come out into the open is where the film lost it for me.
