7 lug 2016 · Posted July 7, 2016. Hi All, When my GF is driving her Mk4 with the windows open a smell of petrol enters the car. Upon investigation the smell seems to come from the filler area but not the filler itself. I cannot see any evidence of a leak anywhere and the exhaust does not seem to be blowing.
19 mar 2024 · Washing the Smell of Gas Out of Clothes. Rinse out as much gasoline from your clothes as possible. Place the gas-soaked clothes in a washing machine alone on the highest heat setting the clothes can tolerate. Add 1/4 cup (59.15 mL) of ammonia or 1 cup (240 mL) of vinegar to the wash. Hang your clothing to air dry.

As a rough guide, the aromatics may have a "sweet' or fruity smell to some people, though naphthalene has the smell of moth-flakes, MBTE a "burning" odor, and sulfur compounds may smell like rotten garlic.
