Wall of Voodoo waren eine ungewöhnliche Band. Während Synthie-Pop-Bands über den Synthesizer meist in der von diesem festgeschriebenen Ästhetik aufgingen, unterfütterten Wall of Voodoo dessen Klänge mit knappen Licks aus der Sixties-Garage.
