1950s/60s: Grand Beginnings. 1956 : Stow College of Hairdressing is founded by the Glasgow Corporation on John Street. 1963: The college moves to Cathedral Street and is renamed Central College of Commerce and Distribution. 1964: The new College of Building is officially opened at North Hanover Street by Labour leader Harold Wilson.

Programme overview. The MSc in Product Design Engineering is collaboratively delivered programme between GSA's PDE department and James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. In the first two stages, the curriculum is equally split between the two institutions, the final stage, the Masters project is primarily at GSA.
