The Prinsenhof is a historic neighborhood in Ghent, created by buildings around the former Hof ten Walle. Emperor Charles was born here in 1500. The walled courtyard with more than 300 rooms, a zoo and a pleasure garden fell into disrepair in the 17th century and was eventually sold.
