The Underwater Realm is a series of 5 short films set entirely underwater. Using unique film-making techniques specifically developed for this project the team of volunteers aims to bring the fascinating world of our oceans to the cinema and inspire people to think more about the life within them.
The Underwater Realm is the story of the five times those on the surface have caught a glimpse below: freediving off the coast of modern Hawaii, a downed pilot at the height of World War II, amidst the smoke and fire of the Spanish Armada, a suicidal girl in medieval England, and finally, at the height of Roman Power in 149 BC.
Welcome to The Underwater Realm. This independent film project’s website makes a point we divers know well: that today’s cinema is full of magic worlds and distant planets, alien creatures and mystical beasts, but the strangest and most alien realm is right here on Earth.
