"Hello Dad, I'm in Jail" itself is also a hilarious song that I'd easily call it Was (Not Was)'s finest moment, both in its spirited music and in David Was' increasingly crazed vocals. Never has anyone ever sounded so confident that being jail is clearly the best thing that's ever happened to them, and that parental intervention isn't needed nor wanted.

Storia. Fondati a Detroit nel 1980 da David Was (nome d'arte di David Jay Weiss) e Don Was (il cui vero nome è Don Edward Fagenson), [1] gli Was (Not Was) esordirono con il singolo Wheel Me Out (1980), che comparirà molti anni dopo nell'antologia Disco Not Disco (2000). Il primo album omonimo (1981) miscela rock, disco, poesia beat, e jazz. [2]
Was (Not Was) artist pic. Was (Not Was) is an eccentric pop group founded by David Weiss (a.k.a. David Was) and Don Fagenson (a.k.a. Don Was). (Don Was is also a famous producer, who has worked with The B-52's, The Rolling Stones and many other artists.) Weiss and Fagenson were childhood friends who grew up together in suburban Detroit, US.
