Board of Visitors. The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts' Board of Visitors was established in 2000. Members serve as ambassadors and advocates, provide fundraising support and act as liaisons to the community for the college. CFPCA's board is particularly instrumental in helping the college to achieve its many fundraising goals.
How our degree programs work. Our programs are structured by 3 distinct areas of study: Design, Art, and Art History. Once you decide the area that you want to study, there are a number of options for degrees and concentrations, depending on your educational goals.
The Department of Art and Art History programs two galleries on campus for the benefit of our university and surrounding communities. Each gallery has their own distinct mission and purpose. Gallery leadership also manages a Gallery Learning Community to expose students to careers in gallery and arts management.

The Arts Achievement Awards originated in 1975 and has been a long standing Presidential level ceremony to celebrate the outstanding career achievements of Wayne State University alumni and former students from the programs that comprise the College of Fine Performing and Communication Arts.
Bryan Strimpel graduated from Wayne State University in 2011 with a B.F.A. in dance. He danced with Nicholas Leichter Dance from 2009 to 2012 as well as the Brian Brooks Moving Company from 2011-2014.
