NIDA welcomes applications from international students for enrolment in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts courses. International applicants are required to attend an audition or interview in Australia, although for non-Acting courses a video interview option may be available. At the end of December, the NIDA Acting class of 2003 held a 20-year reunion, with alumni flying in from across the globe to attend a weekend celebration in picturesque Patonga on the Central Coast. The cohort is still very close, bonded by the formative experiences as young hopefuls during their time at NIDA.
The National Institute of Dramatic Art complex El Instituto Nacional de Arte Dramático se estableció en 1958 y se inauguró en 1959 con solo 23 estudiantes y dos miembros del personal. El único curso que ofrecía era el de Actuación, sin embargo a lo largo de los años ha ido creciendo y metiendo cursos en áreas como la producción de películas, diseño, dirección, teatro y artesanía.
